Students at Royds take external public examinations during the Summer term of Years 10 and 11 however we run Pre-Public Examinations (PPEs) at various times throughout the year for all year groups. This allows students to become familiar with the exam process, being in a large exam venue and working under exam conditions.
We understand that this can be a stressful time for students and their families. To support students, it is essential that school and families work in partnership to they are as well prepared as possible. It is essential that students are present for all exam sessions. To prevent absence from any examination we will provide you with details of the dates of the exams and an exam timetables.
Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE pupils must also be aware that Controlled Assessments now form an integral part of some examinations. There are no set dates for these assessments however, if a student should miss one it could have an impact on their final grade.
In the lead up to exam individual departments will run after-school, weekend or holiday time revision sessions. These provide valuable opportunities to make sure students are prepared for their exams and we ask that you support your child in attending them as much as possible.
