The Resources Committee oversee all non-teaching aspects of the school and focus on business aspects. They monitor the school’s performance across many signposts but focus on:
Making sure the school sets a balanced budget which meets school improvement priorities and is sustainable for future years. They also challenge financial systems and procedures to make sure the school gets value for money and that systems are in place to keep safe from fraud.
Governors will discuss the staffing levels needed and make sure that the school has the right number of staff with appropriate expertise. They will also discuss policies about how staff are managed such as sickness and performance management.
Site and Health and Safety
The school site is large and complicated. The Resources Committee make decisions about how money is invested in improving the site. They also discuss the safety compliance measures that have to be in place in areas such as fire safety and asbestos management.
There are many other areas covered by this committee such as legal compliance, marketing, IT and data protection.
