Royds is a large school with many staff. We want to work closely with parents and carers so it is important that you know who to approach. If you are unsure, you can contact the school office who will be happy to help you and pass messages on to other staff. During school hours, most staff will be teaching or working with students and are not normally able to take phone calls immediately.
You can email members of staff with your query or ask them to call you back. School email addresses are detailed in the attached document. Staff will try to reply to emails as promptly as they can but please be understanding if this is not the same day.
Senior Leadership Team
The Senior Leadership Team oversee all aspects of school life and line manages departments and pastoral staff. They are highly visible around the site and students can come and approach anyone, at any time, if they need help.
Heads of Departments manage academic departments or subject areas are happy to help with queries you have about their subject. If you are unsure who your child’s teacher is then you can address queries to the Head of Department and they will re-direct them for you.
There are two Progress Directors who oversee the academic performance of allocated year groups. Three Pastoral Leaders oversee the wider welfare and behaviour of students in their allocated year groups. Normally, your first contact will be your child’s form tutor. They see students daily so build strong relationships with them. Each year group has a Learning Manager who are also there to help.
There are many administration staff at school. If you phone the main school, you will be speaking to General Office staff whereas if we contact you, it is more likely to be a call from Student Services or the Pastoral Office.
