ACE (Attendance Care Education) is different from all other lessons as it only caters for a small amount of students at one time, to ensure every effort is made to give students with additional needs the extra attention they require in a calm, enjoyable environment.
As well as running small group academic interventions such as Accelerated Reader, there are many social and emotional intervention groups doing activities such as Lego Therapy. Preparing students for their future and teaching life skills are crucial parts of the work ACE do and courses like Independent Travel or Cookery Club form vital parts of functional skills activities.
Every student who is referred to ACE will be tracked every three months to make sure that they are making progress and parents will be kept informed at every stage. We keep in touch with many of our former pupils and their parents and invite them to join us at open evenings to speak to new and prospective parents, as well as other ACE celebrations throughout the year.
ACE are incredibly proud of our positive relationships with all our students’ parents and regularly invite them in to join our Christmas Parties and termly tea afternoons. At these events parents can meet other parents for a general chat or share any advice and ideas with other parents
