The school has both a mission statement and values. The mission statement outlines the education we offer to the community, while the values are what we instill in our students and expect them to embody.
Our mission statements:
- No barrier to success
- No ceiling to achievement
- No excuses for underperformance
The three school values have been designed by students so we expect all students to show:
Respect, Resilience and Responsibility and British Values are key themes for assemblies and are also reflected when looking at other issues such as equalities, events and anniversaries. Assemblies are led by the Senior Leadership Team, Learning and Achievement Leaders, students and others members of our ‘Student-Centered Learning Community’.
At Royds School, assemblies are an important feature the school day and support the schools pastoral system. Every week students have an assembly in their year group that provides an opportunity for the whole year group to come together to explore the latest issues affecting the school community and the wider world.
