Safeguarding and Child Protection

We take the safeguarding and welfare of our students incredibly seriously. We have worked hard to create a culture of vigilance where we know our students, we know what is normal for them and when something is wrong. There are many people in school in pastoral and welfare roles to support students and we hope that all students feel they have a number of adults they can talk to, trust and who are there to help and support them.

Pastoral teams and leadership staff have a heavy presence at social times and are available to students as needed. In addition to this, there is a Safeguarding Team who will follow up any child protection concerns that have been reported. The school has a duty to report any suspected abuse to Social Services.

The Safer Schools Officer works with all of our students and builds relationships to ensure that any student who has a safety concern can talk to him. We have excellent links with local Social Care teams which improves the support we can give our students.

There are a number of systems in school to ensure issues are spotted and escalated early. We will always work with families within the Leeds Safeguarding Children Board’s procedures.

We would always encourage you to get in touch and speak to a member of our safeguarding team or use the Tell Us button at the top of the page.
